Hello everyone! Today we will prepare a traditional Armenian bread loaf, which has a beautiful appearance, a sweet aroma and an appetizing taste. We need to do the first work with dry ingredients. We will prepare artificial yeast, for which we need:
- 1 tbsp of yeast
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 250 g of flour
- 500 ml of water
First, we will put yeast and sugar in a bowl and mix together. After that, we will add lukewarm water and mix well together, the yeast will start bubbling, we will gradually add the flour, we will mix until the mass is homogeneous. I will cover it with cling film and make a couple of holes to let the carbon dioxide out. It should be left for 30 minutes until the yeast matures. We will get artificial yeast.
Preparation of the dough:
In advance, I will sift 3 large cups of flour in a bowl, I will add the already prepared yeast to it, mix it well, add 30g of table salt and knead the dough well by hand. In the process, I add two more cups of flour, 100 ml of vegetable oil, one cup of lukewarm water. The quality of the dough depends on kneading our dough well.
The dough must rise. the first time, when it is ready, I will knead it again and put it in a bowl for the umpteenth time. Before it’s ready, turn on the gas stove to preheat to 500 F and cook for 15 minutes.
Dough:
- 5 cups of flour
- 100 ml vegetable oil
- 50 g table salt (half a handful)
- 1-2 cups of water
