Great way of making layered baklava

Hello everyone… Today we will make puff pastry baklava.

Dough:

  • 250 ml of milk
  • 1 tsp of yeast
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 160 g sour cream
  • 180 g of butter
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 850 g of flour


We will leave the dough to increase in volume(rise), then we will knead again and wait for it to rise a second time. We then will 2 large balls of 350 g and 9 balls of 95 g. The size of the pan will be 35×40 cm.

Filling:

  • 700 g of walnuts
  • 650 g of sugar
  • 0.5 tsp of cardamom
  • Melted butter 350 g

Syrup:

  • 400 g of sugar
  • 250 ml of water
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • almonds/pistachios for garnishing

Open the dough layers, cover with the filling layer and continue in a sequence. Let it rest for 30 minutes, cut and put it in the oven. The temperature of the oven will be 325 F, and the cooking time will be 45 minutes. You can watch the details in the video. Bon appetit!
