The autumn months are approaching soon, and this time of year it is nice to treat our friends and children tea or coffee with traditional Armenian gata, which are prepared very quickly and deliciously. We have several versions of gatas, but today we will present you another version.
Ingredients – dough:
- 750-850 g of flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pack vanilla (2 tsp)
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 250 g of soft butter
- 1 cup of yogurt
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
Filling (Khoriz):
- 150g melted butter
- 230 g flour
- 170 g of sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
For decoration:
- 1 egg yolk
- 2 tsp milk
- Sieve the flour and mix all the dry ingredients together. You need to take soft, unsalted butter and knead it with flour. Pour yogurt and sour cream into a separate bowl, mix well and add the egg.
- Combine dry and wet ingredients together. While kneading the dough, we will add the rest of the flour so that it does not stick to our hands. We get the wet, soft elastic dough. Divide the dough into 4 balls. While the dough rests, prepare the filling.
- The oven must be preheated and I set it to 395 F. It should be baked in the oven for 30 minutes. Bon Appetit…
