Chebureki – Чебуреки

Hello everyone, today we are going to prepare Chebureki, which based on a legend originated from Genghis Khan soldiers, some even say from Genghis Khan himself. Previously, finely chopped lamb was wrapped in the dough and fried in lamb shank oil. Over time people altered the recipe based on their preferences and today we are going to prepare it with beef and lamb, because in this way it’s very juicy.

Recipe: 

Stuffing: 

  • 350 g lamb 
  • 350 g beef
  • 3 onions
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1 tsp of red pepper
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • vegetable oil

Dough:

  • 240 ml of boiled Water (1 cup)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • flour – until it becomes non sticky and dry dough
