We will be using the following ingredients:

For marination and crispy coating

  • 20 shrimps
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp white pepper
  • 4 egg whites
  • 0.5 cups of flour
  • 4 tsp cornstarch
  • cooking oil or vegetable or olive oil – enough to cover the shrimps while deep frying

For the candied walnuts

  • 1 cup of walnuts
  • 0.5 cups of water
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup of brown sugar

For the honey sauce:

  • 2 cups of mayonnaise
  • 4 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp condensed milk
  • 1 lemon juice

First we’ll marinate the shrimps with salt and pepper, and will put it aside for few minutes. Make sure that the shrimps are pre cleaned and washed, additionally pat dry before seasoning. While waiting let’s prepare the walnuts. Over a medium heat, put the water and add the sugar, continue mixing until the sugar is dissolved and the water comes to boil. Once the liquid starts simmering add in the walnuts. Mix well so the walnuts are evenly coated, continue mixing until the syrup thickens. Remove from heat and transfer into a backing pan. Ensure that the walnuts aren’t touching to one another. Bake for 10-15 minutes under 200-250F.

Deep fry the shrimps for 2-3minutes, then take them out of the pan. After few minutes when the oil temperature reaches 400F re-fry the shrimps for another 2 minutes. You can watch all the other details in the video below.
