Walnut Caramel Cake – Muzhskoy Ideal – “Man’s Ideal” Cake

Hello everyone! Today, we will make Caramel Walnut Cake, “Muzhskoy Ideal,” one of the tastiest cakes loved by everyone. It’s a famous Russian cake called Muzhskoy Ideal or Man’s Ideal Cake. However, I added my tweaks to the recipe, which turned out to be very delicious. The cake has an intoxicating and very aromatic aroma and incomparable taste notes. You won’t get enough of the taste. You have to try it! I have two other versions of this cake on the website. You can check them out if you like.

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs
  • 250 g of sugar
  • 250 g of butter
  • 250 g sour cream
  • 4 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 500 g of walnuts (150 for decorating)
  • 300g of flour

Directions

  1. Beat the eggs and sugar together. Add 1 pinch of salt, softened butter, sour cream and honey. Mix together, then keep it on the steam for 3-4 minutes while continuing to mix. Sift flour, baking powder and vanilla over it. Take it from the steam and with a hand using spatula spread the flour through the dough.
  2. Divide the dough into two equal parts. I took 2 rectangular baking pans, the dimensions are 45 x 33 cm. Preheat the oven to 350 F / 180 C and cook for 35 minutes.

We turn on the upper and lower heating. We pour the dough on the bottom of the pan in a very thin layer, as in puff layered pastry.

We get a flexible/elastic thin dough, which we divide into two equal parts. As a result, we get 4 layers. Let the dough cool down and cover with cream. We spread the cream on each layer, cover it with the walnuts, and spread the cream again, then put the next layer.

Caramel Buttercream

  • 450 g of butter
  • 2 cans of boiled condensed milk (caramel sauce)
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
