Hello everyone… Today we are going to make Baklava, which is very popular among the Middle Eastern people. Every nation of that region is prepared, this type of dessert belongs to its store. In our Armenia, the native city of baklava is Gavar. The recipes are very different and very tasty.
Recipe
4 eggs
300 g of butter
560 g of flour (4 cups)
1 tsp of salt
0.5 tsp of soda
230 g sour cream
Preparation of the dough:
We will sift the flour in a bowl and cut medium soft butter on it, 1 tbsp table salt. We will pour sour cream, 3 egg yolks, 1 tsp of baking soda, 0.5 tsp of baking powder into a separate glass. We will mix all this well so that it becomes white and foamy, then we will add it to the flour. We will knead the dough and divide it into 3 balls. We will cover the balls with cling film and let them rest for 1 hour.
Preparing the filling:
We will break 4 eggs and separate the white from the yolk. We will add a pinch of salt to the egg white, and when it starts to foam, we will gradually add 400 g of sugar to it, and we will make a thick meringue. Grind walnuts and mix with meringue, add 70 g of grated coconut.
Syrup
- 4 tbsp of butter
- 5-6 tbsp of honey
